Marwood Ltd. is a dynamic producer of value added forest products for residential, commercial and industrial construction industries. With several operations in Atlantic Canada, they also serve markets throughout North America and Europe.

Cape Cod Wood Siding, a division of Marwood, and Venor have partnered on the search for a General Manager. This role requires an individual who is a hands on, independent thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit. It is crucial that the General Manager be confident in change management and decision making, with the ability to troubleshoot problems for the team.

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the facility. Providing leadership and guidance to the management team and employees, you will ensure production and quality goals are met while maintaining a collaborative work environment. As a leader you will participate in people management including performance
management to maintain positive working relationships. Being accountable for all production outputs, you will allocate resources effectively to fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. You will identify areas for continuous improvement and develop systems and processes that
track and optimize productivity, cost savings, metrics and performance targets and any potential risks that may contribute to the long term strategic plans. This will include coordinating with the Inside Sales and Scheduling team to ensure on time delivery for customers.

With 5 years of experience and a post-secondary education in Business, Forestry and Engineering. You have excellent planning, organization, communication and leadership skills. You bring proven experience in complex and continuous process operations. With a systems oriented mindset and financial acumen, you are knowledgeable in management processes, budget development and policy. As an innovative leader, you are passionate and ambitious about your role and the companies you work for. Experienced in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, you stay current with the latest production management best practices.
